On August 5, Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela and Grenada Vu Trung My presented the letter of credentials of President Luong Cuong to Governor General of Grenada, Ms. Cecile La Grenade.
Speaking at the solemn ceremony held in the capital city of Saint Georges, Governor-General of Grenada, Cecile La Grenade, conveyed her friendly greetings to General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong and leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, and expressed her admiration for the past struggle for national liberation and reunification as well as the achievements of the renovation cause initiated and led by the Communist Party of Vietnam .
Celebrating the proud milestones in Vietnam's national construction and development, Governor-General Cecile La Grenade respectfully sends warm congratulations to the Party, State, Government and people of Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
At the reception, Governor General Cecile La Grenade warmly congratulated Ambassador Vu Trung My on his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Grenada; believing that with his experience, the Ambassador will make important contributions to strengthening and promoting the Grenada-Vietnam bilateral relationship in the coming time.
On this occasion, Governor-General Cecile La Grenade thanked President Luong Cuong for inviting her to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime held in Hanoi on October 25-26; and said that Grenada would send a representative to attend this important event.

Ambassador Vu Trung My expressed his honor to assume the responsibility of Vietnamese Ambassador to Grenada and affirmed that he will continue to make efforts to promote friendship and cooperation in all fields between the two countries.
Respectfully conveying the best wishes of President Luong Cuong and senior leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam to Governor-General Cecile La Grenade, Ambassador Vu Trung My emphasized the foreign policy of independence and self-reliance for peace, friendship, cooperation and development, implementing the policy of diversifying and multilateralizing foreign relations; affirming that Vietnam wishes to continue promoting and deepening relations with Grenada in the coming time.
During his stay in Grenada, Ambassador Vu Trung My met with Prime Minister and Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dickon Mitchell.
Speaking at the meeting, the two sides agreed to promote the friendly and cooperative relations between the two ruling parties, creating a favorable political foundation for strengthening multifaceted relations between Vietnam and Grenada.

Earlier, speaking at the reception for Ambassador Vu Trung My, Grenada's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Foreign Trade, Joseph Andall, expressed his gratitude for the recent approval of the Vietnamese Government as the Honorary Consul of Grenada.
Minister Joseph Andall expressed his belief that the activities of the Honorary Consul of Grenada in Vietnam will contribute significantly to promoting cooperation in many fields, especially economics, tourism, culture and people-to-people exchange between Grenada and Vietnam.

Ambassador Vu Trung My expressed his hope that Grenada would soon recognize Vietnam's market economy mechanism and support Vietnam's candidate for the position of Judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea for the 2026-2035 term.
At the meeting, Minister Joseph Andall said that Grenada acknowledged, appreciated and would soon respond to Vietnam's proposals, and expressed his hope that the two countries would continue to closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums and international organizations, and soon promote negotiations and signing of the Visa Exemption Agreement for Diplomatic and Official Passport Holders as well as the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement to create a favorable legal corridor for promoting bilateral relations in the coming time.
