At the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), Daihatsu officially introduced the limited edition Rocky Limited Edition. This is a super rare SUV with only 10 units produced, and is exclusively for customers in Indonesia during the exhibition. The Rocky Limited Edition is based on the idea of last year's Rocky Crossfield concept, possessing a strong design with unpainted front/rear bumpers, a separate grille with "Daihatsu" lettering and 16-inch black alloy wheels.
The production version is painted in a striking Energetic Orange color, combined with black details on the hood, wheel arches and side mirrors. Although it lacks the off-road tires and roof rack of the concept, users can still upgrade easily. In particular, the two sides of the car are decorated with matte black panels and large ROCKY badges, combined with the orange words "Limited Edition". The interior retains the familiar design, only adding black painted details on the steering wheel, center console, air vents, door handles and gear lever. This version is a mid-range configuration, so it still has a 7-inch entertainment screen, digital dashboard, fabric seats and two standard airbags.
In terms of operation, this SUV has no changes compared to the original. The car is equipped with a 1.2L 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, 87 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque, with a CVT gearbox and front-wheel drive. This is also the configuration most favored by Indonesian users, accounting for 66% of sales of the entire Rocky line. Basic safety features of Daihatsu Rocky Limited Edition in Indonesia include 2 airbags, ABS anti-lock braking function, EBD electronic brake force distribution system, VSC electronic balance system... The price of the Rocky Limited Edition is listed at 248,750,000 Indonesian Rupiah (about 15,100 USD - more than 460 million VND), only about 260 USD more than the standard version. This is a rather modest number compared to the limited nature - only 10 cars - making this SUV as rare as a million-dollar supercar like the Bugatti Centodieci.
Daihatsu is only accepting orders for this model during the GIIAS exhibition (July 24 – August 3), so interested customers should quickly place their orders if they want to own one of the few special Rockys ever produced. Video : See details of the special Daihatsu Rocky Limited Edition model.
