Dak Lak records another child death due to dengue fever

On September 3, the Dak Lak Center for Disease Control (CDC) reported that a child had just died of dengue fever in the area. This is also the third death from dengue fever in Dak Lak since the beginning of 2023.

Accordingly, the patient was identified as HNN (female, born in 2010, Ea Phe commune, Krong Pak district, Dak Lak province).

As of September 2, the whole province recorded 2,272 cases of dengue fever, 3 deaths. (Illustration photo).

The patient's family said that on August 29, the child had a continuous high fever. On August 30, the family took the child to a private clinic and was diagnosed with dengue fever, and treated with intravenous fluids and fever-reducing medication.

On August 31, the family took the child to the Krong Pak District Medical Center with a diagnosis of severe dengue fever on the 4th day. On September 1, the child was transferred to the Central Highlands General Hospital and later died due to severe multiple organ failure and irreversible damage to multiple organs.

According to statistics from CDC Dak Lak, as of September 2, the whole province recorded 2,272 cases of dengue fever, 3 deaths.
