Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nguyen Hoang Giang said: Exactly 70 years ago, on August 2, 1955, the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam signed and issued Decree No. 566 on the establishment of the Religious Committee, a unit within the Internal Affairs Committee, directly under the Prime Minister 's Office, the predecessor of today's Government Religious Committee, and at the same time established a system of Religious Committees under the Regional Administrative Committees and Provincial Administrative Committees, which is also the predecessor of today's State Management system of Religion.

In Decision No. 445/QD-TTg dated May 27, 2005, the Prime Minister decided to take August 2 every year as the Traditional Day of the State Management of Religion. That event clearly affirms the position, role and importance of the State management of religion, and is also a great source of spiritual encouragement for the team of civil servants, public employees and workers doing this special work nationwide.

Looking back on the 70-year journey, the State Management of Religion sector has constantly strived, matured and made important contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Under the leadership and direction of the Party and State, the efforts of generations of cadres working in religious affairs have overcome all challenges, performed well the advisory role for the Party and State in planning and implementing religious policies, ensuring the people's freedom of belief and religion, contributing to consolidating and promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc.

The system of legal policies on beliefs and religions has been increasingly improved. The 2016 Law on Belief and Religion and related legal documents have fully concretized the spirit of the 2013 Constitution, creating a solid framework to better ensure freedom of belief and religion. The organization, apparatus and staff of the religious sector have been increasingly consolidated, improved and developed, meeting political tasks through stages and periods.
For Dak Lak province, generations of officials working in state management of religion have always strived to fulfill their tasks well, becoming a solid bridge between the Party, the State, religions and religious people.

At the seminar, delegates reviewed the 70-year tradition of the State Management of Religion. Former leaders of the Religious Affairs Committee (Department of Home Affairs) through the periods, representatives of the provincial police and Dray Bhăng commune shared practical experiences in the activities and state management of religion.

In addition, it is necessary to innovate working methods in the direction of applying science and technology and digital transformation; promote propaganda and dissemination of the Party's policies and the State's laws on beliefs and religions; continue to pay attention to, guide and create conditions for religious organizations to operate in accordance with their charters, regulations and legal provisions; promote the role of dignitaries, monks and nuns and prestigious people in religions to mobilize followers to unite and actively participate in building their homeland and country.
