(CLO) That is the request of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai at the Conference summarizing 20 years of implementing Directive 16/2004 of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on promoting Party development and political training and fostering for reporters and editors in the city's press and publishing system held on November 20.


Reporting at the conference, Comrade Tang Huu Phong - Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee said that in recent times, the city's press and publishing agencies have always identified political and ideological work as one of the key tasks, not only within the unit but also having to carry out well the ideological orientation work on products, on the basis of promoting the role of party members, taking the team of reporters and editors as the core; regularly paying attention to training and fostering political theory. Cadres, party members, reporters and editors are conscious of studying to improve their professional qualifications and political theory level.

Comrade Tang Huu Phong affirmed that most of the team of reporters and editors have experience, solid professional qualifications, have received basic training and been tested through many years of work, have completed assigned tasks well, and are dedicated and passionate about the development of the agency and unit.

Thereby, contributing to significantly strengthening and improving the political theory level of reporters and editors, ensuring the activities of press and publishing agencies are in accordance with their principles and purposes, and propagating the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee assessed that after 20 years of implementing Directive 16, the awareness and actions of the entire city's political system on Party development and political training and fostering for reporters and editors have changed dramatically.

The city's press and publishing agencies are operating with increasingly high quality, implementing well the development of party members in conjunction with planning, training and fostering cadres; affirming the position and prestige of each unit, contributing to the overall development of the city.

In the coming time, Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai proposed to raise awareness and responsibility of Party committees, Party organizations, press and publishing agencies, especially leaders, about the role and importance of Party development work and political training and fostering for reporters and editors.

For agencies and units, Permanent Deputy Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai requested to provide timely, complete and accurate information to press agencies. Ensure that reporters and editors have full information and accurately reflect the situation.
