The 15th day of the 7th lunar month (Vu Lan Bao Hieu festival) is one of the most important holidays in the cultural life of Vietnamese people. On this occasion, families often prepare offerings to place on the family altar, remembering the birth and upbringing of their parents. On social networks, there are also colorful trays of offerings that many people admire and praise.
Ms. Vu Thu Huong (in Hanoi ) shared that in folklore, the 7th lunar month is also known as the "ghost month". Therefore, in addition to preparing offerings such as betel and areca nuts, fruits, incense and candles, people also prepare a savory or vegetarian offering tray to show their respect to their ancestors and to hope for a lucky month.
The offering tray usually includes traditional or modern dishes depending on the preferences and conditions of each family. Preparing the offering tray not only has a deep spiritual meaning but is also an opportunity to strengthen family ties, maintain and pass on precious cultural values from generation to generation.

Ms. Loan Tran (in Hoa Binh ) said that to prepare the offering tray quickly, she prepares the ingredients for each dish separately, and puts each dish on a plate after it is cooked. After finishing one dish, she moves on to another, alternating so as not to waste too much time.
