According to the announcement of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Premier Li Qiang will visit Germany from June 18 before going to France to attend the Summit on a Global Financial Compact, at the invitation of the French government.

At a regular press conference of the Chinese Foreign Ministry on June 15, in response to CCTV 's question about Beijing's view of current China-Germany relations and China's expectations for Li Qiang's upcoming visit, spokesman Wang Wenbin affirmed that the China-Germany comprehensive strategic partnership has developed at a high level in recent years. The strong vitality of the bilateral relationship is reflected in the close exchanges between the two countries' leaders and increasingly extensive practical cooperation in various fields.

Premier Li Qiang's choice of Germany as the first stop on his first overseas trip since taking office shows that Beijing values the importance of relations with Berlin.

The intergovernmental consultation mechanism co-chaired by the two prime ministers is a “super engine” for cooperation between the two countries. At the 7th China-Germany Intergovernmental Consultation, Premier Li Qiang and his delegation will fully consider and promote practical cooperation in various fields.

The head of the Chinese State Council will also attend the 11th China-Germany Economic and Technical Cooperation Forum and exchange in-depth views with representatives from the two countries' economic communities.

In a world facing uncertainties, sluggish economic recovery and more global challenges, China hopes to deepen and expand relations with Germany and jointly send a positive message of enhancing dialogue and cooperation, pursuing common interests, jointly responding to challenges and contributing to world economic prosperity, peace and stability, according to spokesman Wang Wenbin.
