At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the world and regional situation, as well as expressed their desire for practical cooperation in the field of press and media to promote bilateral relations between Vietnam and China, in the context that the two countries are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1950 - 2025) and the Vietnam-China Year of Humanitarian Exchange.
Recalling the very successful visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping in April 2025, Mr. Do Khoi Van affirmed the "close relationship between China and Vietnam, both comrades and brothers" between the two countries.
He also shared many emotional stories about the close Vietnam-China relationship throughout history, especially during Vietnam's resistance war against the US. According to him, previous generations of leaders of the two countries laid the foundation for this friendship, especially the deep relationship between President Ho Chi Minh and previous Chinese leaders such as Chairman Mao Zedong and Premier Zhou Enlai.
Appreciating the role of the press in foreign affairs, Mr. Do Khoi Van affirmed that in the present era, the work of orienting public opinion plays a particularly important role. In China, the press plays a key role in raising people's awareness and understanding of foreign affairs. Sharing more about China's foreign press, Mr. Do Khoi Van said that the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs currently does not have its own press agency, but there is the World Knowledge Magazine, which was established more than 10 years ago with functions and tasks similar to the World and Vietnam Newspapers.
A member of the Foreign Policy Advisory Committee under the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs proposed a direction for cooperation between the press agencies of the two foreign ministries. Mr. Do Khoi Van emphasized that in the context of increasingly fierce competition in the global media, the press of the two countries need to closely coordinate and support each other to overcome difficulties, expand influence and enhance their positive role in guiding public opinion.

Deputy Editor-in-Chief Hoang Diem Hanh highly appreciated the visit of the delegation led by Mr. Do Khoi Van on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), demonstrating the "fate" between the Vietnamese and Chinese press. The Deputy Editor-in-Chief of The Gioi and Viet Nam Newspaper shared that exactly 100 years ago, on June 21, 1925, Thanh Nien newspaper, founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, published its first issue in Guangxi, China. And since then, June 21 every year has become a golden milestone for the birth of Vietnam Revolutionary Press.
Deputy Editor-in-Chief Hoang Diem Hanh provided an overview of the functions, principles and purposes of The World and Vietnam Newspaper . Accordingly, as the mouthpiece of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Newspaper focuses on informing and propagating the guidelines and policies of the Party and State of Vietnam, Vietnam's political and foreign affairs activities, the international situation and relations between Vietnam and its partners around the world. In particular, The World and Vietnam Newspaper considers the Vietnam - China relationship as one of the focal points of information and propaganda throughout all of the Newspaper's platforms, from print newspapers, electronic newspapers to publishing special issues, specialized pages... On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China, the Newspaper has published a special issue in Vietnamese and Chinese and is currently completing a special publication commemorating the 75th anniversary of the relationship between the two countries. In this new publication, there is an important article by Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Ha Vi.
In the context of the two countries celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year, Deputy Editor-in-Chief Hoang Diem Hanh hopes that the two sides will cooperate closely to have more materials, tell meaningful and attractive stories about the Vietnam-China friendship, contributing to fostering more understanding and raising awareness among young readers about the bilateral relationship between the two countries. Regarding the prospects for cooperation in the field of media between the two sides, the Deputy Editor-in-Chief also shared the desire to increase the exchange of reporters, articles and professional experience between the two sides, and welcomed the proposal to cooperate with the World Knowledge Magazine of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In a friendly atmosphere, both sides affirmed that they will continue to promote the role of foreign press in nurturing the "both comrade and brother" relationship between Vietnam and China, especially during the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations.
