According to the State Bank, nearly 188,000 customers nationwide have had their debt repayment terms restructured and their debt group maintained, with a total value of principal and interest restructured at more than VND183 trillion. Debt deferral not only helps businesses reduce financial pressure but also increases their access to capital because if they are transferred to the bad debt group, businesses will have difficulty borrowing more capital.

However, currently, business operations are still facing many difficulties, so the proposal to extend Circular 02 is expected to create more conditions for businesses to recover production and business. In addition, experts also proposed extending the time limit for calculating the extended loan. Because according to regulations, only loans arising before April 24, 2023 can be restructured. If this time limit is extended, the beneficiaries will be expanded, helping more businesses benefit from this support policy.
