Moving south to film a Tet movie, actor Thanh Son surprised everyone with his beard and romantic style. His character will have a love triangle with two close friends.

Love the wrong best friend is a remake of the work Friendzone Thailand's famous movie starring Baifern Pimchanok and Nine Naphat.

In the Vietnamese version, Thanh Son plays Vu Tran - a musician who has a love triangle with the female lead Binh An (Kaity Nguyen) and Bao Toan (Tran Ngoc Vang). The actor's role in the original is Ted, played by actor and singer Jason Young.

According to Thanh Son, although the two characters have similar beards, they have some differences.

Thanh Son's role. This is also the actor's first Tet film project.

In the film, Vu Tran is a director and producer who can play many musical instruments. This was a challenge for Thanh Son when he took on the role, because he was forced to learn to play the guitar in a short time.

Sharing about the role of Binh An, Kaity Nguyen said her character always longs to be loved. When struggling between emotion and reason, she is willing to love madly, even blindly, regardless of right or wrong.

Through a journey full of irony and emotions, Binh An slows down to absorb and understand all the feelings around him.

Tran Ngoc Vang deeply sympathized with the character Bao Toan from the first script reading. "During pre-production, I researched and delved deeply to live this role in the most complete way," he said.

Love the wrong best friend is the first film that director Diep The Vinh takes on the role of director, in collaboration with director Nguyen Quang Dung.

It took the duo half a year to complete the script, which was stressful but no less interesting. "In addition to cultural details, we also focused on building details in acting and the message the film conveyed to suit the Vietnamese film market," said the director.

The film will be released on Tet At Ty 2025, competing with the project The Guardian Quartet Tran Thanh's was just revealed not long ago.

The crew hopes that the film will contribute to bringing joyful spiritual food, filled with laughter through a romantic love story, no less humorous with beautiful scenes in Vietnam.
