Foreign wrestlers meet 'tough opponents' at village festival, 17-minute fight ends in undecided victory

Hundreds of spectators came to watch wrestling at the Chau Phong festival (Dong Anh, Hanoi ) and stayed until dark to fully enjoy the exciting matches. Among them, the match between the "phenomenon" on social networks in recent days, foreign boxer Zakhar Dzmitrychenka and wrestler Nguyen The Cu attracted the most attention.

After causing a stir in traditional wrestling arenas in Hanoi with his "easy as cutting bamboo" victories, Zakhar met a worthy opponent. Nguyen The Cu is a former athlete, who won the national championship of traditional wrestling. Currently, this wrestler is working as a sports coach in Vinh Phuc .

The match between Zakhar and Nguyen The Cu lasted 18 minutes. The two wrestlers were in a stalemate and both showed good techniques, overcoming each other. After 10 rounds without a clear winner, in the spirit of exchange without focusing on winning or losing, the organizers decided that Zakhar and Nguyen The Cu were tied.

Zakhar Dzmitrychenka, Belarus, born in 1996. According to the World Wrestling Federation (UWW) profile, Zakhar competed in the U23 World Championship in 2017 and reached the round of 16 in the 85 kg Greco-Roman category. He ranked 10th overall in this tournament.

In recent years, Zakhar Dzmitrychenka has turned to Ju-Jitsu and MMA (mixed martial arts). The Belarusian fighter came to Vietnam to train and compete. During the Lunar New Year 2025, he came to Hanoi at the invitation of a friend and enjoyed spring festivals with wrestling activities.
