Unique bamboo house architecture near Cuc Phuong National Park

VHO - Located near Cuc Phuong National Park, Nho Quan district (Ninh Binh) has a bamboo architectural complex made of hundreds of thousands of bamboo trees and parachute cords, without using any metal materials, creating a unique architecture and attracting a large number of tourists.

The unique bamboo construction has attracted many domestic and foreign tourists to visit and experience.

This unique bamboo structure belongs to Vedana Resort in Cuc Phuong Commune , Nho Quan District. Many items here are constructed entirely of bamboo - a green, environmentally friendly material that our ancestors have used for thousands of years.

This is the largest bamboo structure ever built by architect Vo Trong Nghia and this impressive architectural work has been honored by the famous UK architectural magazine Dezeen - one of the world's leading magazines on architecture and design and received the Dezeen Awards 2021.

The representative of the investor of the tourist area shared: "We and the team of architects had to travel all the way to Tay Ninh to directly check the quality of the bamboo, place orders, then hire highly skilled workers there to work continuously for 2 years, then bring them to Ninh Binh to carry out the construction."

After being soaked, soaked, dried, and technically processed, bamboo will not be susceptible to termites, and its durability is not inferior to industrial materials such as iron, steel, etc., but it is very close and friendly to the natural environment, making visitors feel completely immersed in nature. The unique point is that all bamboo structures here do not use any metal materials in the bamboo to increase hardness or metal to connect the bamboo stems together.

The skilled and highly specialized craftsmen used the traditional technique of connecting the bamboo stems together with sharpened bamboo sticks and tightly woven parachute cords. It looks simple but not everyone can do it, but only talented craftsmen who truly understand bamboo can create this work.

There are many items that are completely made of bamboo such as: The 1,000m2 bamboo restaurant is made of more than 70,000 bamboo trees, many bungalows are also made entirely of bamboo with about 3,000 bamboo trees/house. The bamboo restaurant is more than 15m high (equivalent to a 5-storey house), structured by 36 bamboo frames forming a 3-storey dome. Although made of bamboo, after many years with many storms, this structure still stands firm, without affecting the structure.
