Nguyen Ngoc Thuan and his teammates' opponent is Thailand, the team that won both legs of the SEA V.League last year and is in good form after two wins against Indonesia and the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese men's team is feeling excited after beating Cambodia in the second match (before that, the team lost to the Philippines in the opening match).

In set 1, the two teams played a tug-of-war, constantly chasing each other in terms of points. The Vietnamese men's team had opportunities to end the set but failed to capitalize on them, losing 29-31.

Set 2 took place with a similar situation, but this time, the Vietnamese men's team was the one who took advantage of the opportunity better to win 25-22.

In the next two sets, Coach Tran Dinh Tien's students played brilliantly at decisive moments to win 25-18 and 25-20 respectively.

Defeating Thailand 3-1 (29-31, 25-22, 25-18, 25-20), the Vietnamese men's team got their second win in the tournament and temporarily led the first stage with Thailand with the same record of 2 wins and 1 loss.

Coach Tran Dinh Tien and his team can completely win the championship of the first stage of the tournament if they overcome the Indonesian team in the final match tomorrow, July 12.
