After losing 0-3 to host Philippines in the opening match, the Vietnamese men's team is determined to get their first win against Cambodia, a team participating in the SEA V.League for the first time.

The Vietnamese men's team is rated higher than Cambodia, but the opponent is a team that has made great progress in recent times, including Cambodia winning the silver medal at the 32nd SEA Games.

In set 1, the two teams played a tug-of-war, constantly chasing each other in terms of points. But at the decisive moments, the Vietnamese men's team were the ones who played with more courage to win 25-23.

In set 2, the Vietnamese men's team started better, at times leading by 3 points.

However, the Cambodian team also responded with important points to equalize at 17-17.

However, coach Tran Dinh Tien's students continued to show their mettle at key moments, creating a gap of 23-19 before winning 25-20.

In set 3, the two teams continued to chase the score and created a balanced game at the beginning.

But towards the end of the set, the Vietnamese men's team played better and better, they created a gap of 21-16 then 23-18 before winning 25-21.

Defeating Cambodia 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-21), the Vietnamese men's team got their first victory in stage 1 of SEA V.League 2025.

In the third round taking place tomorrow, July 11, Nguyen Ngoc Thuan and his teammates will face Thailand, the team that won both legs of the SEA V.League last year.
