On the afternoon of October 6, in the second semi-final match, the Thai volleyball team lost 0-3 to host China. With this result, Thailand will compete for the bronze medal with the Vietnamese women's team at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow (October 7).

In the second semi-final, after 3 sets, the girls from the land of golden temples lost 21-25, 23-25 and 15-25. This was not a surprising result because the Chinese volleyball team is the strongest team in Asia.

Previously in the first semi-final, the Vietnamese team lost 1-3 to Japan, with the scores 23-25, 26-24, 21-25 and 16-25.

" Japan has always been a strong team. Today, some players did not play well and had psychological problems. In particular, the team's setters did not play well today. The coaching staff determined that the players could play comfortably, but with the nature of an ASIAD semi-final, a match that can be considered the biggest match of many players' careers, they were psychologically affected ," Mr. Nguyen Tuan Kiet shared.

The Vietnamese team will meet Thailand again after more than a month. The last time the two teams met was at the 2023 Asian Championship. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team lost 1-3. In the first game, the Vietnamese team won 25-23, but lost the next 3 games with the scores of 14-25, 19-25 and 23-25.

Reaching the semi-finals of the ASIAD is a historic milestone for Vietnamese women's volleyball. In the group stage, the team defeated Nepal and South Korea. In the second round, the team defeated North Korea to secure a spot in the semi-finals.

2023 marked a great step forward for Vietnamese women's volleyball. The team won the Asian Club Championship under the name Sport Center 1, then won the silver medal at the 32nd SEA Games.

The next success of the Vietnamese team was winning the AVC Challenge Cup volleyball tournament and earning a place at the FIVB Challenger Cup 2023.

At the 2023 Asian Championship and ASIAD 19, Thanh Thuy and her teammates both reached the semi-finals.
