The Singapore U20 women's team split into two groups. On the first day, the group of 22 players and 13 coaching staff and technical staff landed safely in Hanoi.
The team will arrive in full force one day later, with one player and two officials present. The team will be housed at the Grand Plaza Hotel for the duration of the qualifiers.
Under the guidance of head coach Fazrul Nawaz – former Singapore national team player, the U20 women’s team will have their first training session on the afternoon of August 4 to get used to the weather and pitch conditions in Hanoi. This is an important warm-up to help the young players adapt better before entering the official matches.
On August 5, coach Fazrul Nawaz will join representatives from Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan and Hong Kong (China) in a pre-tournament press conference.
According to the match schedule, the Singapore U20 women's team will face the host Vietnam U20 women's team in the opening match of Group B, taking place at 7:00 p.m. on August 6 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
This is a match that is expected to be challenging for the young Singapore team when facing a home team with good form and quality.
Meanwhile, the two remaining teams in the group, U20 women's Kyrgyzstan and U20 women's Hong Kong (China), will arrive in Hanoi on August 4.
Group B matches will take place continuously in the first week of August, with the goal of winning tickets to the next round of the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Championship - the most important arena at the youth level of women's football in the continent.
Arriving early, preparing carefully and having a clear training plan shows that the Singapore U20 women's team is seriously aiming for the qualifying round and aiming to achieve the best results.
