Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of Binh Phuoc province, central ministries and branches inspected the site at Ma Da, the border point of Binh Phuoc - Dong Nai, March 20, 2022.

Accordingly, Ma Da bridge will create a vital traffic axis connecting Dong Nai province (old) with Binh Phuoc province (old), and at the same time form a strategic traffic route from the Central Highlands to Long Thanh International Airport and Cai Mep - Thi Vai deep-water port .

The project promises to open up new momentum in the development of inter-provincial logistics infrastructure and key industrial zones, contributing to improving transportation capacity and the investment and business environment.

Ma Da Bridge is planned as a level III traffic project, with a design speed of 80km/h. In the completion phase, the bridge has a cross-section of 34.5m, accommodating 8 lanes of motor vehicles.

However, phase 1 will be implemented with a cross-section of 20.5m wide, including 4 motor vehicle lanes and related ancillary works.

The total investment for phase 1 is over 192 billion VND, of which construction costs are over 135 billion VND, compensation and resettlement costs are nearly 3.8 billion VND. All funding is allocated from the provincial budget.

The project will be implemented from 2025 to 2027. After completing and evaluating the effectiveness of the first phase, the province will continue to research and invest in expanding to a complete scale according to the original design.

Working delegation of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee surveyed the actual area of Ma Da bridge restoration to open a road connecting Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc, March 13, 2025

The starting point of the bridge intersects with Provincial Road 753 and the end point connects with the route leading to Ring Road 4 - Ho Chi Minh City, helping to increase connectivity between the Southeast - Central Highlands - Ho Chi Minh City regions.

The project's site clearance area is approximately 1.32 hectares, including 0.63 hectares of special-use forest land, 0.46 hectares of production forest land, 0.04 hectares of water surface and 0.19 hectares of traffic land. Compensation, support and resettlement will be carried out in parallel with the construction progress, ensuring the correct process and progress.

The Ma Da bridge project is divided into two independent projects for ease of implementation.

Specifically, the Ma Da Bridge Construction Project will be invested by the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board; and the Compensation, Support and Resettlement Project will be undertaken by the Provincial Land Fund Development Center.

Ma Da Bridge connecting Binh Phuoc (old) and Dong Nai (old) damaged during the war is about to be restored.

Previously, on June 30, 2025, Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc also signed Decision No. 2336/QD-UBND on adjusting Dong Nai Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. In which, Ma Da Bridge was officially added to the transport development planning system and the list of priority investment projects in the coming period.

Specifically, the project is included in Appendix XI - the plan to connect Dong Nai province with neighboring localities; and is also included in the list of key projects on transport infrastructure in Appendix XXXII, with the order number 4. The project is also integrated into the plan to develop the province's road network and land allocation, with the adjustment of converting more than 96 hectares of forest land to traffic land.

The investment in the construction of Ma Da bridge not only has the meaning of connecting infrastructure but is also a strategic step in the orientation of regional space development of Dong Nai province.

When completed, the project will contribute to removing infrastructure bottlenecks, expanding growth space, and creating momentum to promote development cooperation between provinces in the Southeast and Central Highlands regions.
