Information from the Department of Cinema (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) on August 1 said that classic films of Vietnamese cinema such as "Sao Thang Tam", "Ha Noi mua dong 46", "Nga ba Dong Loc", "Canh dong hoang" will be screened in the Film Series to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Accordingly, implementing Decision No. 2286/QD-BVHTTDL dated July 1, 2025 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on organizing the Film Series to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025) (hereinafter referred to as the Film Series); The Department of Cinema presides over and coordinates with Feature Film Joint Stock Company I, Giai Phong Film Joint Stock Company, Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio One Member Limited Liability Company, Vietnam Animation Film Studio Joint Stock Company, People's Police Cinema, Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Film Distribution and Screening Center, Cinema Center, Cultural - Cinema Center, Cultural - Art Center, Cultural Centers of provinces and centrally-run cities (hereinafter referred to as Cinema Units) to organize the Film Festival nationwide.

According to the Department of Cinema, the Film Festival is a meaningful cultural-cinematic activity aimed at widely propagating among the masses, especially the young generation, about pride in the tradition of patriotism and the spirit of great national unity in the cause of national liberation, construction and protection of the Fatherland.
At the same time, through cinematic works, viewers will review the heroic history of the nation, thereby raising awareness and sense of responsibility in the cause of building, protecting and developing the country.
Within the framework of the Film Festival taking place from August 12-14, 2025 in Dak Lak province, the Department of Cinema presided over and coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province, Feature Film Joint Stock Company I, Giai Phong Film Joint Stock Company, Dak Lak Provincial Film Distribution and Screening Center to organize the Opening Ceremony of the Film Festival; at the same time, organize an exchange program between film artists with the people, armed forces and students in Dak Lak province.
The Opening Ceremony of the Film Series will take place solemnly at 7:30 p.m. on August 12, 2025 at the Dak Lak Provincial Film Distribution and Screening Center.
The group of artists and actors will hold an incense offering ceremony at the National Historical Site: Memorial Site for Southern Soldiers in Buon Ma Thuot and visit a number of tourist destinations with unique cultural and natural characteristics of the Central Highlands.
Also within the framework of the Film Series, the Department of Cinema organized an exchange program between artists and actors of 3 feature film crews: “Dao, Pho and Piano”, “Ba Gia Di Bui” (produced by Feature Film Joint Stock Company I) and “Ky Uc Nam Xuan” (produced by Giai Phong Film Joint Stock Company) with the people and soldiers of the Mobile Police Battalion of Dak Lak Provincial Police on August 12; officers and soldiers of the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command on August 13 and officers, lecturers and students at Tay Nguyen University on August 14.
In addition to the above three films, the Cinema Department will also send film units a number of films to screen during this period, including the following films: “Sao Thang Tam”; “Canh Dong Hoang”; “Hanoi in winter 46”; “Nga Ba Dong Loc”; “Hanoi 12 days and nights”.
In addition, the animated films shown in this series include: “Origin”; “The Legend of the Poinsettia”; “The Broken Chicken Feather”.
Documentaries to be screened this time include “Flying on the Wings of Freedom”; “Special Companion”; “Song Da Hydropower Plant”; “Milestone in the Middle of the Ocean”; “Nam O Fish Sauce Village”./.
