On December 4, the Emergency Department of the Ha Tinh General Hospital received 3 patients from the same family who were poisoned by CO gas due to burning coal for heating in a closed room.
The patients were identified as Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyen (26 years old), Hoang Thi Hong (59 years old, Tuyen's biological mother) and Tuyen's 13-day-old baby.
The patients were admitted to the hospital in a state of lethargy and difficulty breathing. Doctors diagnosed CO poisoning.

After receiving them, the doctors of the Emergency Department of Poison Control provided emergency treatment according to the treatment protocol for CO poisoning. Ms. Tuyen and Ms. Hong's condition has worsened so they are expected to be transferred to a higher level. The newborn baby is being given oxygen and continues to be monitored and treated.
Earlier, at around 7am the same day, Ms. Tuyen's mother-in-law went to her in-laws' house to visit her newborn daughter-in-law, but no one answered her calls. Worried that something bad was about to happen, Ms. Tuyen's mother-in-law called her son, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thong, and a neighbor to break down the door to get in.
Arriving home, Mr. Thong and his neighbors broke the door to enter and discovered Ms. Tuyen, her mother-in-law and their 12-day-old baby lying unconscious on the bed, with a pot of warm coal next to them.
It is known that the incident occurred in a room only about 10 square meters wide and the charcoal pot was placed on the night of December 3rd with the room door closed.
Upon receiving the news, Ich Hau Commune Police and medical staff arrived at the scene, provided first aid to the victims and quickly took them to the hospital for emergency care.
