On July 15, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DTC) of Ca Mau province, said that the total number of visitors to the locality in the first 6 months of the year reached 5,120,000, an increase of 18% over the same period in 2024. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 4,890 billion VND, an increase of 16.3% over the same period.

Besides the achieved results, the tourism industry of Ca Mau province also faces many difficulties and obstacles that need to be resolved soon so that the tourism industry of the province can develop commensurate with the potential and advantages of the locality.

Specifically, duplication of tourism products makes it difficult for localities to clearly position their regional competitive advantages; limited tourism transport infrastructure, many degraded roads make it difficult for tourist spots and areas to attract tourists...

At the same time, many tourist attractions in the area are currently small and unfocused, so they are not strong enough to retain tourists for long stays; there are no 4-5 star resorts, large-scale entertainment complexes, or bustling night shopping and dining centers. Tourism human resources are still limited, lacking managers and tour guides with in-depth knowledge of local culture, digital skills, and foreign languages; staff at community tourism attractions have not been properly trained, and services lack professionalism.

In the spirit of innovation and making the most of the local potential and advantages, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province will focus on solutions to develop the tourism industry, such as: building tourism development projects to serve as a basis for calling for investment; promoting communication and tourism promotion on digital platforms as well as building a tourism brand identity.

Attracting focused investment in the province's important tourist areas including: Mui Ca Mau National Tourist Area, Song Doc - Hon Da Bac - Nha Mat coastal resort. Improving human resource capacity for tourism development, digital transformation, application of technology in communication and promotion; improving service quality at destinations.

"The tourism industry of Ca Mau province after the merger is facing an opportunity to make a breakthrough, but if we want to "go far and go steadily", we must thoroughly resolve the bottlenecks in planning - infrastructure - investment - human resources - institutions and technology. This is the condition to build a truly professional and effective tourism industry, worthy of the potential of the southernmost region of the country" - Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province informed.
