70 blind students lined up, holding hands to enter the cinema

All the way from school to the theater, students of Nguyen Dinh Chieu Special School were chatting excitedly about the upcoming movie screening.

A student who had seen the movie excitedly talked about his experience to those who had never seen it before. "Last time I got to see the movie Polar Bear , it was so much fun!" - Dang Gia Bao (class 4A) recalled.

Young audiences enjoy popcorn while watching movies.

When they arrived at the theater, the children were taken to their own screening room to watch the movie Dolphin Boy .

An indispensable "spice" in movie screenings that children often eagerly await is popcorn. So every child eagerly waits to receive it. Then, without waiting for the movie to start, as soon as they receive the popcorn, they immediately try it.

The film will still be shown as usual with a dubbed version. But to help children understand the plot, the screening will have an additional "narrator".

Throughout the screening, the "narrator" will describe the characters' actions, especially when the characters have no dialogue.

The young audience members were excitedly sharing with each other about the plot of the film, as well as the descriptions of the "narrator". Sometimes they burst out laughing at the humorous lines and descriptions of the "narrator". There were children who, although unable to follow the images on the screen, were still eager to receive the sounds and atmosphere of the film and the theater...

Cinema helps blind children feel "not left out"

Nguyen Tran Nhu Hao is the daughter of a teacher at Nguyen Dinh Chieu Special School. Receiving her father's call, Nhu Hao became a "narrator" for the school's students when they watched the movie.

Blind students have the same need for entertainment as their peers, so they look forward to going to the movies. Such practical activities help them not feel left out in the social flow.

Films are also a form of education when the content is integrated with meaningful lessons in an attractive, easy-to-remember format. Student Bui Lam Nhat (grade 6A) shared: "I want to watch more films because films help me learn good lessons."

Ms. Huynh Thu - representative of Lotte Cinema Vietnam Company, the sponsor of the program - also hopes that the students will have a wonderful movie viewing experience to connect more with cinema.
