According to Mirror , a common mistake that can lead to illness is not cleaning the air fryer between uses. This is a dangerous habit for health.
For example, if you undercook a piece of chicken contaminated with salmonella and don't clean the pot, the bacteria can contaminate food prepared later.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture says salmonella bacteria can remain infectious for up to 32 hours on dry surfaces.
American food safety editor Candess Zona-Mendola also warns that cooking in a dirty air fryer will significantly increase the risk of food poisoning.
