Da Nang City plans to coordinate with Hue City to research and invest in developing Son Cha Island into an isolated eco-resort island for high-spending guests.

On February 28, the People's Committee of Da Nang City issued a decision approving the proposed integrated component of economic development cooperation with the provinces in the South Central Coast, Central Highlands and East-West Economic Corridor 2.
The decision signed by Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, has content related to the direction of cooperation in developing economic sectors with special interest in tourism.
Notably, in the direction of cooperation and association in tourism development, Da Nang city plans to study and coordinate with Hue city to invest in developing Son Cha island (also known as Son Tra Con island or Chao island) into an isolated eco-resort island for high-spending and super-luxury guests.
In addition, Da Nang city also plans to cooperate with Hue city to invest and jointly exploit Sung Co, Ma Da, and Hai Van Quan beaches.
Hon Son Cha is a small, pristine island.
In September 2024, the Government Office announced the conclusion of the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, assigning Da Nang city to manage Son Cha island and the area south of Hai Van mountain. Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue city) manages the area north of Hai Van mountain.
From this Son Cha island, there is a wide panoramic view in front of Da Nang Bay and the vast sea area of Thua Thien Hue province.
This is an uninhabited area and is only directly managed by border guards.
Da Nang is oriented to develop into one of the major international tourist centers of the region and the country, taking on the role of gateway to the Central and Central Highlands regions.

Traffic connecting to Hoi An can be built as urban railway
In the orientation of linking infrastructure construction, Da Nang will invest in synchronous construction of roads, structure, and route of Da Nang - Thanh My - Ngoc Hoi - Bo Y expressway connecting with Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway.
Complete La Son - Tuy Loan Expressway; National Highway 14B section through Da Nang reaches the scale of a 6-lane urban main road; National Highway 14G section through Da Nang reaches the minimum scale of a level IV road, 2 lanes; Nam Hai Van bypass.
Construct a public transport route (urban railway or other equivalent method) connecting Da Nang city with Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) and Lang Co town (Hue).
