The image of the all-electric Ford Explorer was recorded in front of the Notre Dame Cathedral (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City). This is a car model that was just launched globally at the end of March and is not expected to be on sale until 2024.
The notable point is that the car has a European license plate. According to the reporter's investigation, this pure electric Explorer belongs to a foreign caravan, making a journey across Southeast Asia, with Vietnam as a stopover.

Meanwhile, Ford Vietnam has not yet announced plans to distribute the pure electric Explorer or electric car models in general in the Vietnamese market.
The electric Explorer model is called Ford Explorer EV and belongs to the C-class SUV segment. Apart from the same name, the car has no connection to the gasoline Explorer model, which is a large 7-seat E-class SUV and is currently being sold officially in Vietnam.
The car is developed on the Volkswagen Group's MEB chassis, sharing the same platform with car models such as the Volkswagen ID.4, ID.6, Skoda Enyaq or Audi Q4 e-tron.
The Ford Explorer EV is completely different from the gasoline-powered model of the same name.
The Ford Explorer EV is expected to come in two versions, with electric motors including a single motor with 168 horsepower and a range of 351km; a single motor with 228 horsepower and a range of 539km; and a dual motor with 335 horsepower and a range of 491km.
The car's central processing system has 12 ultrasonic sensors, 5 cameras and 3 radars, serving advanced driving assistance technologies such as automatic lane change, lane keeping assist or front/rear collision warning.
