Saudi Arabia's Highway 10 crosses the Rub'al Khali Desert, the world's largest completely empty sand desert.

According to Guinness World Records, Saudi Arabia's Highway 10 sets a record for being 240km long but without any curves or bends, making it the longest straight highway in the world.

The route runs through the vast and harsh Rub'al Khali desert, connecting Highway 75 in Haradh, famous for its oil reserves, and Highway 95 in Al Batha (bordering the United Arab Emirates).

With nearly 240km of straight road without a single bend or steep curve, the route is considered to bring visitors a special experience amidst vast space and unobstructed views.

It takes an average car just over 2 hours to complete the super straight route on the line.

However, drivers will face dangers when driving in temperatures that can reach over 50 degrees Celsius during the day and can drop below 5 degrees Celsius at night, danger from animals such as camels or from sand accumulating on the road surface.

Highway 10 is considered a particularly important achievement in the effort to develop Saudi Arabia's transport infrastructure, improve logistics capacity, strengthen connectivity between regions, and facilitate economic diversification according to the Saudi Arabian government's Vision 2030 initiative.

Before Saudi Arabia's Highway 10, the world's longest straight road record belonged to a 146km stretch of the Eyre Highway connecting Western Australia and South Australia (Australia).

Some magazines also consider Saudi Arabia's Highway 85, at 822km long, to be the longest straight road in the world. However, in reality, the road is not completely straight and still has some slight curves.
