Today, October 24, in Lao Bao town, Huong Hoa district, the Association of Revolutionary Soldiers imprisoned by the enemy in Quang Tri province held a meeting to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its founding on October 27 (1994 - 2024). Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Ho Dai Nam attended. On this occasion, Party Central Committee member and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung sent a congratulatory flower basket.

During the struggle for national liberation, thousands of cadres, party members, soldiers and patriotic compatriots of many generations in Quang Tri province were arrested, tortured and imprisoned by the enemy.
During the time of physical and mental torture, the revolutionary soldiers always upheld their indomitable spirit, steadfastly fought against the enemy, "turning the imperialist prison into a revolutionary school".After returning victorious, the country was independent and unified, and the brothers and sisters wished to have an organization representing the revolutionary soldiers imprisoned by the enemy to continue contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Based on that need, on October 27, 1994, the Provincial Association of Patriotic Political Prisoners was established. Since then, the association has gone through 7 congresses. The 7th congress - term 2022 - 2027 took place on November 8, 2022, and decided to change the association's name to the Association of Revolutionary Soldiers imprisoned by the enemy in Quang Tri province.

Since the founding of the association, revolutionary soldiers imprisoned by the enemy have been very excited and confident in the care of the Party and the State. The association has organized many pilgrimages to visit Lao Bao prison, Phu Quoc prison, Con Dao prison and historical revolutionary sites inside and outside the province; traditional meetings to celebrate the day of "Victory Return".
Up to now, basically revolutionary soldiers and members who were imprisoned by the enemy have enjoyed preferential treatment from the State, such as the regime for war invalids and those who enjoy policies like war invalids.

Speaking at the meeting, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Ho Dai Nam congratulated the achievements and results of the Association of Revolutionary Soldiers imprisoned by the enemy in the past 30 years and hoped that all levels of the association and its members would continue to contribute to the development of Quang Tri. The Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department also hoped that the members would continue to pass on the revolutionary spirit, the will to self-study and self-improvement of the people of Quang Tri to the young generation today and tomorrow. On this occasion, the Association of Revolutionary Soldiers imprisoned by the enemy organized for its members to visit the Ban Dong Museum (Savannakhet province, Laos); visit and offer incense at the Lao Bao Prison Historical Site; and visit a number of wind power projects in Huong Hoa district.
