Bitcoin hit a record high of $121,209.01 in Asian trading on the morning of July 14, marking a milestone for the world's largest cryptocurrency as investors bet on long-awaited policy wins.

On July 14, the US House of Representatives will debate a series of bills aimed at providing the digital asset industry with a national legal framework.

These demands were made by US President Donald Trump, who calls himself the “crypto president,” and called on policymakers to reform rules that benefit the industry.

Bitcoin is up more than 29% year-to-date, sparking a broader rally across other digital currencies over the past few weeks, even in the face of President Trump's tariffs.

Also in the July 14 trading session, the price of Ether, the second largest cryptocurrency, also reached a peak of $3,048.23, the highest level in the past 5 months.

According to data from CoinMarketCap, the total market value of the industry has increased to about $3.78 trillion.
