Accordingly, the average coffee purchase price in key areas is currently at VND92,000/kg. Specifically, coffee prices in Gia Lai province decreased by VND1,600/kg compared to yesterday and were traded at VND92,200/kg.
In Lam Dong and Dak Lak provinces, traders are purchasing coffee at 92,300 VND/kg, down 1,700 VND/kg and 1,500 VND/kg respectively compared to yesterday.
For pepper, the current average purchase price in key areas is 137,400 VND/kg. After a decrease of 500 VND/kg, pepper price in Gia Lai province is at 136,500 VND/kg.
In Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, pepper prices today both decreased by VND1,000/kg, currently being purchased at VND137,000/kg. Pepper in Dak Lak decreased by VND1,500/kg, currently being priced at VND138,500/kg. In Lam Dong province alone, pepper prices had the highest decrease of VND2,000/kg, to VND138,000/kg.
According to export businesses, Vietnam is currently entering the final stages of the coffee harvest.
There is not much inventory left among the people, while export contracts that have been signed in advance force businesses to actively buy. This is what keeps domestic coffee prices high, even though world prices show signs of a slight decrease.
As for domestic pepper prices, they are currently in a state of “tug of war”. Supply is scarce but purchasing power has not really improved. Many businesses are still waiting for more positive signals from the two major markets of China and Europe, expecting a breakthrough in the last quarter of 2025.
