Rice price today July 17: Buying and selling transactions are absent

Rice prices today are generally stable, with only a slight increase in some raw rice products. The domestic market is less active, with prices not fluctuating much compared to yesterday.

Raw rice price

According to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the price of CL 555 raw rice increased by 50 VND/kg, ranging from 8,250 - 8,350 VND/kg. The remaining raw rice varieties such as OM 380, IR 504, OM 18 and 5451 remained unchanged from yesterday. Finished rice OM 380 and IR 504 continued to be stable at around 8,800 - 9,700 VND/kg.

At retail markets, the prices of all types of rice remained unchanged compared to the weekend. Nang Nhen rice continued to be the most expensive, at VND28,000/kg. Huong Lai, Nang Hoa, Jasmine, Soc Thai rice... remained at their familiar prices of VND13,000 - 22,000/kg, with no recorded adjustments.

By-product and glutinous rice prices: Bran slightly decreased

By-products had a small fluctuation, when the price of bran decreased by 100 VND to 7,500 - 7,600 VND/kg. Meanwhile, IR504 fragrant rice and rice husk remained stable. Prices of glutinous rice such as fresh IR 4625, 3-month dried glutinous rice and dried IR 4625 remained at around 7,300 - 9,700 VND/kg.

Fresh rice market: Steady transactions, stable prices

Prices of fresh rice varieties such as OM 18, OM 5451, IR 50404, Dai Thom 8... today remained stable at around 5,700 - 6,200 VND/kg. Transactions in localities took place regularly but not vigorously, traders purchased moderately, prices fluctuated little.

Domestic transactions are stable, purchasing power is slow

In provinces such as An Giang, Dong Thap, Hau Giang , the amount of rice arriving is small, the purchasing power of warehouses and traders remains at a moderate level. Prices are generally stable, without significant fluctuations. Wholesale markets such as Sa Dec, An Cu recorded steady buying and selling activities, prices remained unchanged.

Rice exports stagnant, Thailand in trouble

In the export market, Vietnamese rice prices remained unchanged from yesterday. 5% broken rice is currently at 377 USD/ton, while 25% broken rice and 100% broken rice remain at 357 and 317 USD/ton. Meanwhile, Thailand is struggling to solve the consumption problem as its export volume in the first 6 months of the year has decreased sharply and it has to compete fiercely with Vietnam in major markets.
