On March 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association held a press conference to inform about the 20th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival in 2024. This year's Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival takes place from April 4 to 7 at September 23 Park (District 1) with the theme "20 years of vibrant journey".
The Tourism Festival has the participation of more than 100 booths, including 43 booths from provinces and cities, along with 35 tourism service businesses and other units. Taking place before the peak tourist season on April 30 and May 1, the festival is expected to be an opportunity for businesses to increase customer access, introduce a series of new summer products, and effectively stimulate summer tourism.
Accordingly, it is expected that about 400 tours and tourism services of travel companies, spas, restaurants, shopping establishments... will be launched to stimulate demand with the highest preferential price of 50%, along with many gifts for visitors.
Visitors can find nearly 40 inner-city tours in Ho Chi Minh City, 20 inter-regional tours, more than 100 domestic tours and hundreds of international tours with promotional prices from major companies in the city.
Within the framework of the event, there is a Tourism Job Fair in 2024, taking place from 8:30 to 10:00 on April 5 to connect tourism service businesses in need of recruitment with the workforce and students of tourism training institutions.
Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that the Tourism Festival takes place in April, which is the time when companies launch summer tours, so people also see this as an opportunity to hunt for good priced tours.
Faced with rising airfares, the department encourages tourism businesses to diversify means of transportation, not relying entirely on airplanes.
"Buying a tour right on the festival day also helps tourists buy tours at good prices with promotions," Mr. Hoa added.
