Gasoline prices decrease, oil prices increase from 3pm today, after adjustment by the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance.

The price of RON 95-III gasoline (the popular type on the market) decreased by 80 VND, to 21,140 VND per liter. E5 RON 92 also decreased by 160 VND, to 20,590 VND.

In contrast, oil products increased by 410-570 VND per liter and kilogram. Compared to 7 days ago, diesel increased by 410 VND to 20,190 VND. Kerosene and fuel oil have new prices of 20,110 VND and 17,750 VND, respectively.

Gasoline and oil prices   change as follows:

Item New price Change
Gasoline RON 95-III 21,140 - 80
E5 RON 92 gasoline 20,590 - 160
Diesel 20,190 + 410
Kerosene 20,110 + 410
Fuel oil 17,750 + 570

Unit: VND/liter or kg, depending on type

After adjustment, diesel prices are now at their highest level since late July 2024. Meanwhile, gasoline prices are about VND2,260 per liter lower than at the end of January 2024.

The operator said fuel prices fluctuated last week due to cold weather in the US and Europe, which increased fuel demand. US President Donald Trump also issued policies to increase domestic fossil fuel production and directed tax adjustments with some countries. These factors caused gasoline prices to increase or decrease depending on the item.

On average, over the past 7 days, finished gasoline prices have decreased by 0.1-0.7%, and oil prices have increased by 2.8-4.7%. Accordingly, each barrel of RON 95 gasoline has decreased to 87 USD and diesel has increased to 98.1 USD.

Today is the last operating session of the authorities before the 9-day Tet holiday. According to regulations, gasoline prices are adjusted every Thursday.

However, next week's adjustment schedule falls on January 30, the second day of Tet. Therefore, the adjustment time will be postponed to February 1 (the fourth day of Tet), according to Decree 80 on petroleum trading.
