VnExpressVnExpress20/03/2024

VITM International Tourism Fair 2024 in April will offer more than 10,000 combo deals including air tickets, hotel rooms, and tours for visitors.

Ms. Le Thi To Linh, representative of Vietnam Airlines, said that 10,000 discounted air tickets will be sold during the 4 days of the Vietnam International Tourism Fair - VITM Hanoi 2024 from April 11 to 14. Travel companies are the units that can buy these discounted tickets to create travel combos (air tickets + hotel rooms with other incentives) to sell to tourists. Individual customers will be eligible for a discount program of up to 15%. The tourism fair also offers many tours and cheap rooms from 3,500 Vietnamese and international businesses.

VITM Hanoi 2024 will take place at the ICE International Exhibition Center, Friendship Cultural Palace, Hoan Kiem District with 450 booths, of which 25% will be international booths. Domestic and foreign tourism businesses and destination management agencies will introduce and provide products directly to customers. It is expected that nearly 80,000 visitors will come to the fair this time, 1.3 times higher than last year and equal to 80% of the number of visitors in 2019.

Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association Vu The Binh said that this year's Fair "has many new things". With the theme "Vietnam Tourism - Green transformation for sustainable development", VITM Hanoi 2024 contributes to promoting a new trend - responsible tourism associated with environmental protection.

The fair will have two main activities: trade and tourism promotion, which is an opportunity for Vietnamese and international tourism promotion agencies to promote and introduce tourism products, destinations, tourism stimulus packages, technology, and new tourism trends. The event also creates opportunities for the Vietnamese tourism industry to grow in all three types of tourism: outbound (bringing tourists abroad), inbound (bringing international tourists in) and domestic tourism.

According to Mr. Binh, after 3 years of the pandemic, the event has returned to the atmosphere of 2019 with a "very large" number of booths. Currently, there are 51 provinces, cities and 16 countries with booths participating.

"Vietnam tourism is trying to regain its position as a strong tourism industry in the region," said Mr. Binh.

The Vietnam International Travel Mart, which began in 2013, was interrupted for three years due to the pandemic. Before the pandemic, the fair welcomed an average of 50,000-70,000 visitors each year, making it one of the largest tourism events in Vietnam.
