On May 10, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh, Deputy Director of Tien Giang Department of Transport, said that the Department of Transport coordinated with VNPT Tien Giang to pilot a model of monitoring motorcycle driving tests (A1) through a chip-based citizen identification card authentication device and facial recognition. This model is implemented according to Project 06 of the Ministry of Public Security.

The model was deployed at Tien Giang Automobile Transport Joint Stock Company with 350 students registering for the motorcycle driving license exam (A1).

According to Mr. Thanh, the deployment of chip-based citizen identification card authentication devices ensures the accuracy of student identities and avoids fraud in testing at driving test centers.

In addition to identity verification, the device also recognizes faces and identifies test takers, ensuring accurate identification of candidates during theoretical and practical exams on and off the road.

If the pilot is successful, Tien Giang Department of Transport will continue to expand to the remaining three motorcycle driving test centers in the province.

Mr. Do Van Chung, Director of Tien Giang Automobile Transport Joint Stock Company, said that applying this device in driving tests is a significant step forward.

Thereby, helping driving training and testing centers improve their reputation and transparency in exams.

However, investment in equipment and costs incurred during the implementation of the model require state support to reduce pressure on businesses and students.
