Having long cherished the plan to check-in with Ao Dai at the spring market, now that the spring rain has stopped, Ms. Duong Thi Ngoc Phuong (born 2002, Binh Lanh commune, Thang Binh) immediately went to Tam Ky market to "live virtual". Wearing a light pink traditional Ao Dai, Phuong showed off her gentle figure next to the flower rows.

Delighted with her satisfactory photos, Ngoc Phuong shared: “I have seen the trend of taking pictures in Ao Dai at the spring market for a long time, now I have time to dress up and go out to take pictures. This is an opportunity for me to capture beautiful moments after a year of hard work and effort, and will be wonderful memories of my youth. Wearing Ao Dai also helps me feel more confident, highlighting the beauty of Vietnamese women.”

From Tra Mai commune (Nam Tra My), Nguyen Chanh Duy (born in 2005) and his 5 friends also wore traditional ao dai and took pictures together at Van Thanh - Khong Mieu Tam Ky. Joining in the bustling atmosphere of the spring afternoon, Duy eagerly chose the best photo angles to show off his scholarly appearance and jet-black ao dai.

"I saw on TikTok that people took beautiful photos of ao dai here. This trend is also very meaningful because it honors the beauty of traditional Vietnamese ao dai. So I invited my friends to check in together to have beautiful photos to show off spring" - Duy said. Photo: HH

Joining that trend, photographers are also busier during the days before Tet. Photographer Tran Van Luc (Tien Phuoc district) said: “In the past 3 years, the trend of taking photos in Ao Dai has become popular. Young people often like to take photos in rural markets, places with lots of flowers or in cultural and historical places, spaces suitable for Ao Dai. By the end of this year, I will also take 5-6 sets of photos like that.”

According to Luc, depending on the customer's request, the price ranges from 500,000 VND to 1 million VND/set of photos. Although this trend is still booming, this year many people have switched to taking photos with their phones instead of hiring photo editing services.
