Once expected to be an urban highlight of the central area of Pleiku City, the FLC Hilltop Gia Lai project in Dien Hong ward is now becoming a disappointment for local residents due to the slow construction progress, which has lasted for many years, causing waste of land resources, affecting urban aesthetics and reducing people's confidence.

FLC Hilltop Gia Lai project started construction in the third quarter of 2019, initially creating high expectations for residents of Group 6, Ia Kring Ward (now Dien Hong Ward).

Mr. Le Hung - Party Secretary of Residential Group 6 - shared: "When the project first started, we were looking forward to a modern, spacious urban area, contributing to changing the face of the city and creating new livelihoods for the people. However, nearly 6 years have passed, the project is still unfinished, causing waste of land resources, affecting people's lives and security and order in the residential area. Therefore, people hope that the province will continue to direct strongly to speed up the progress, soon complete and put the project into use".

Faced with this situation, on July 9, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee Office issued a Notice of Conclusion by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que, directing relevant agencies to study, review the planning and solutions to remove obstacles to speed up the project implementation progress.

At the same time, assign the People's Committee of Dien Hong ward to proactively research and review detailed construction plans for the FLC Hilltop Gia Lai project and develop plans and solutions to speed up project implementation progress.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tuan Quang - Chairman of Dien Hong Ward People's Committee, after preliminary review, the detailed planning for the construction of the FLC Hilltop Hotel, Commercial and Townhouse Complex has been approved by the People's Committee of Pleiku City (formerly) in Decision No. 261 dated March 1, 2019, in accordance with the general planning of Pleiku City to 2030, vision to 2050; and has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee for local adjustments and zoning planning.

“Based on the direction of the province, the Ward People's Committee has assigned the Economic , Infrastructure and Urban Department to review the detailed construction planning of the FLC Hilltop Gia Lai Hotel, Commercial and Townhouse Complex. The entire review process and proposed adjustment plans (if any) are being urgently implemented and responsibilities are clearly defined, ensuring the completion schedule before July 30, 2025,” said Mr. Quang.

The Chairman of Dien Hong Ward People's Committee also emphasized: "This is one of the key projects that plays a role in promoting the socio-economic development of the locality. Therefore, we hope that the provincial departments and branches will continue to coordinate to remove obstacles, accompany investors to speed up the implementation progress to soon put the project into operation, effectively promote land resources and create development momentum for the locality in the coming time".

FLC Hilltop Gia Lai project, invested by FLC Group, is being implemented on a land area of over 3.1 hectares at 29 Nguyen Van Cu Street, Dien Hong Ward. According to the investigation, the project was under construction when some legal problems arose, causing the implementation progress to be delayed for a long time. Currently, the Provincial People's Committee is directing strongly to remove difficulties, complete the project soon and put it into use.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que assigned the Department of Construction to advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct the People's Committee of Dien Hong Ward to review the detailed planning, ensuring that it is consistent with the construction zoning plan approved by the Provincial People's Committee. At the same time, develop a specific plan, propose feasible solutions to remove difficulties and speed up the project implementation progress; complete the dossier and report to the Provincial People's Committee as soon as possible.

From a long-stalled project, the FLC Hilltop Hotel and Commercial Townhouse Complex is being put on a new path - faster, clearer and more responsible. The drastic intervention of local authorities and timely direction of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee are expected to remove investment "bottlenecks", ensure the legitimate rights of the people; at the same time, effectively exploit land resources, promote urban development in the western region of Gia Lai.
