Hanoi ensures every child has a Mid-Autumn Festival

The Hanoi People's Committee has just planned to organize the Mid-Autumn Festival for children in the city in 2025.

The plan aims to enhance the responsibility of the whole society in protecting, caring for and educating children; to organize a joyful, safe and warm Mid-Autumn Festival for all children, especially children in special and difficult circumstances, ethnic children and children in mountainous areas.

At the same time, mobilize social resources to ensure that all children have the opportunity to participate; 100% of communes and wards must have plans to implement the above content and ensure that children in special circumstances are supported and given gifts.

Accordingly, the organization of the Mid-Autumn Festival for children will take place at 8:00 p.m. on October 3, 2025; 100% of communes and wards will simultaneously organize the "Full Moon Festival Night" program with a scale of 300 children or more. Contents include: Gift giving, art performances, lantern processions, Mid-Autumn Festival tray competitions... Hoan Kiem Ward was chosen as the city-level organizing location.

In addition, we also organize communication, education and social mobilization activities, such as: Propaganda on child protection and care; prevention of abuse and injuries; organizing seminars, talks, initiative activities, competitions; training to improve capacity for staff working with children at all levels...

The city also organizes activities to visit and give gifts to children and public social assistance facilities that care for and nurture children; organizes cultural, sports and folk game programs; guides children to preserve traditional culture and live a healthy and safe life.

The City People's Committee assigned the Department of Health to coordinate with the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem Ward to organize the "Full Moon Festival 2025" for children in special circumstances and children overcoming difficulties; organize visits and give gifts, in accordance with Resolution 25/2022/NQ-HDND of the City People's Council; mobilize resources, award scholarships and gifts to children in disadvantaged areas, ethnic minorities, and remote areas. At the same time, increase medical examination and treatment for disadvantaged children, children with disabilities, and children with serious illnesses.

The Department of Culture and Sports directs press and media agencies to propagate the prevention of violence, abuse and accidents against children. Manage and guide the effective use of community playgrounds, cultural houses, libraries, cinemas; organize cultural, artistic and sports activities suitable for children's ages; inspect to ensure safety when children participate in activities; other departments, branches and sectors, based on their functions, develop specific plans to support children during the Mid-Autumn Festival...

People's Committees of communes and wards develop plans to organize the Mid-Autumn Festival, arrange appropriate funding; propagate child protection policies, promptly handle abuse cases; review data on vulnerable children to have support measures...
