Hanoi temporarily suspends activities at relics to proactively respond to storm No. 3

The document was issued on the basis of implementing Official Dispatch No. 3550 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and urgent instructions from the Hanoi People's Committee to promptly respond to natural disasters and minimize damage caused by storms and floods.

Accordingly, units such as the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, the Management Board of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Hanoi Landmarks, Hoa Lo Prison and the People's Committees of communes and wards are required to synchronously deploy many solutions. In particular, it is important to check the power supply system in the relic area; develop plans to protect valuable artifacts and documents; and especially temporarily stop receiving visitors at the relic sites during the flood warning period.

For degraded relics, especially those that are seriously degraded and at risk of collapse, located near rivers and lakes, measures need to be taken to prevent natural disasters and floods.

For relics being demolished or under construction, effective protection measures are needed to avoid damage caused by storms and floods, and ensure safety during the restoration and embellishment of the relics.

Along with that, environmental sanitation, security and order, fire prevention and fighting at relic sites are also required to be tightened. Functional forces are mobilized to be ready to be on duty, closely coordinating with local authorities in relocating artifacts and overcoming the consequences after the storm.
