Two passenger planes collided at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, forcing the airport to temporarily close one of its four runways.

The Taiwanese Eva Airways and Thai Airways planes collided at around 11 a.m. today, Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism said. The Thai Airways plane was carrying 260 passengers and crew, while the Eva Airways plane was carrying 200 people. There were no casualties in the incident.

Thai Airways said the plane was about to take off for Bangkok when it collided with the tail of an Eva Airways plane about to depart for Taipei. The collision damaged the wingtip of the Thai Airways plane, forcing it to abort its takeoff.

One of Haneda Airport's four runways was closed for two hours, causing some flights to be delayed.

Thai Aways said Japan's civil aviation agency is investigating the incident. Eva Airways has not commented on the collision.
