Two employees of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) face charges of illegally copying images related to the recent aviation tragedy and have been prosecuted for computer intrusion, according to ABC News citing the MWAA's announcement on February 3.

The legal action is related to a video broadcast by CNN that captured the entire mid-air collision between an American Airlines plane and a U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, which caused both planes to explode and crash into the Potomac River. All 67 people on board both planes were killed.

Videos aired on CNN provide a closer and clearer view of the aviation tragedy, including one showing the helicopter moving from the left side of the screen as the American Airlines flight approached the airport.

A second video shows the Black Hawk helicopter and Bombardier CRJ700 jet moving towards each other before they collide and explode.

CNN said both videos were recorded on a cell phone.

MWAA said employee Mohamed Lamine Mbengue, 21, of Rockville, Maryland, was charged on January 31, while employee Jonathan Savoy, 45, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was charged on February 2.

On February 3, the wreckage of the ill-fated American Airlines plane was recovered from the Potomac River. After the civilian plane wreckage is completed, the Black Hawk helicopter will be recovered.
