In the 10th People's Artist (NSND) and Meritorious Artist (NSUT) title awarding ceremony in 2024, Hai Phong city was honored to have 3 Meritorious Artists awarded the title of People's Artist: artist Khanh Hoa ( Hai Phong Song and Dance Troupe), artist Nhat Thuan (Military Region 3 Art Troupe) and artist La Viet Sinh (Puppetry Art Troupe); 02 artists awarded the title of Meritorious Artist: artist Nguyen Thi Duong ( Hai Phong Cheo Troupe) and artist Do Thi Kim Oanh ( Hai Phong Cai Luong Troupe).
The oldest of them is People's Artist La Viet Sinh (82 years old). Despite his "rare" age, People's Artist La Viet Sinh is always active and constantly devoted to art such as: participating in teaching generations of students, participating in stage design, creating puppets, and is admired and highly appreciated by friends, colleagues and professionals. The youngest artist of Hai Phong City to be awarded this time is Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thi Duong, Actress of Hai Phong Cheo Troupe (40 years old).
At the meeting, Hai Phong City Party Secretary Le Tien Chau affirmed that Hai Phong city is proud of its long history and depth of culture and art, and is the land that has given birth to and nurtured great names in Vietnam's modern music, such as: Musicians Van Cao, Doan Chuan, Do Nhuan, Ngo Thuy Mien... Hai Phong is also one of the localities with vibrant theatrical activities; has great prestige and influence in the theatrical activities of the whole country. Mr. Le Tien Chau emphasized that, along with the whole country, the team of artists of Hai Phong city has continuously grown, worked actively and effectively, and made increasingly great contributions to the common cause of the country and the city.
Mr. Chau said: "The journey of making art has only a starting point and no ending point. The artistic values that artists bring and contribute to life will remain valuable over time. I hope that all artists in the city will continue to nurture their passion for art, nurture their love for the country and the beloved city of Hai Phong, to continue to contribute more and more effectively to the cultural and artistic life of the country and the city."
Thus, up to now, Hai Phong city has 4 artists awarded the State Prize, Ho Chi Minh Prize; 6 People's Artists and 67 Meritorious Artists.
Meritorious Artist Do Thi Kim Oanh, Hai Phong Cai Luong Troupe, one of two artists from Hai Phong city who have just been awarded the title of Meritorious Artist, emotionally said: "This is the motivation for Kim Oanh and the artists who were awarded this time to try harder so as not to disappoint the City leaders, the Department of Culture - Sports of Hai Phong, as well as the audience."/
