I download the bank's App to my mobile phone, apply for payment of purchases via QR code or transfer money through my account. I have registered for notification of the amount and automatic monthly payment deductions through my account of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) for family service fees, such as electricity, water, internet bills, etc. I find the application has many utilities, such as depositing money into the account from many sources; transferring money in and out of the bank, depositing savings, managing personal and business financial services very conveniently, without having to go to the bank nearly ten kilometers away from home to wait in line to make financial transactions like before, so it reduces time and travel costs”.
It is known that the branches of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) in the province are pioneering commercial banks in implementing digital transformation, opening accounts and identifying customers by electronic customer identification method eKYC; providing electronic banking services, issuing technical standards. At the same time, deploying modern banking services such as: SMS services, E-Mobile banking, Internet banking, E-banking; enhancing standardization, increasing connectivity in the banking industry and between banks and other industries and fields. Thereby increasing convenience, helping customers, especially customers in rural areas, to access electronic banking services in the most convenient way.
In addition, Agribank branches have a network of operations in all localities in the province with 3 type I branches, 31 type II branches, 34 transaction offices, 2 mobile transaction points with specialized cars, more than 90 ATMs/CDMs, more than 500 POS machines. Agribank is also accompanying more than 1.4 million customers with deposits, loans and using banking financial products and services. Agribank's e-banking services meet customers' needs in online money transfer and receipt transactions, bill payments, shopping, etc. By early June 2025, the total mobilized capital of Agribank branches in the area reached more than 62,000 billion VND; accounting for 33% of the market share of credit institutions. Total outstanding loans reached nearly 70,000 billion VND for hundreds of thousands of customers to access preferential capital, invest in production and business, helping farmers have capital for production.
With the goal of creating a "boost" in service provision activities, meeting the increasing needs of people and businesses, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) - Branch Region 7 has directed credit institutions in the province to strongly deploy the application of information technology, digital transformation and regularly coordinate with relevant agencies to implement measures to ensure security, safety and confidentiality of customer data. To reach customers through digital channels, Thanh Hoa's banking sector has focused on investing in technology systems, operating platforms, developing digital transformation infrastructure, and promoting cashless payments. Therefore, banking products and services provided to customers are increasingly digitized and modernized, thereby providing many safe and convenient products and services to enhance the user experience.
By mid-June 2025, the whole province had a system of more than 328 ATMs, more than 4.8 million personal payment accounts, more than 2.8 million bank cards issued with thousands of payment points accepting POS cards, payments via QR codes. Along with that, a series of e-banking and digital banking applications were deployed, facilitating transactions for customers. With the support of the banking industry, the implementation of non-cash payment solutions for service groups such as: payment of fees, administrative procedure fees, tax payment, social insurance was promoted. With digital banking applications, people can deposit savings online; borrow money online; pay phone bills, water bills, electricity bills; pay taxes; pay insurance premiums...
In the coming time, the State Bank of Region 7 will continue to direct commercial banks in the area to focus on upgrading and synchronously investing in technical infrastructure, diversifying and increasing digital utilities. In particular, focusing on the extensive development of non-cash payment services, such as: online public service payment, subsidy payment, social security, hospital fees, tuition, insurance, electricity and water bills; exempting and reducing payment fees to promote and expand non-cash payments. In addition, promoting communication and popularizing digital skills for people in accessing and using financial and banking services in the electronic environment, contributing to realizing digital transformation goals, towards digital government, digital society, digital economy.
