Hanoi coach Kiatisuk Senamuang praised captain Nguyen Quang Hai after helping Hanoi Police escape defeat against Ha Tinh in round 12 of V-League 2023-2024.

At Hang Day Stadium, Quang Hai volleyed outside the box to equalize 1-1 in the first minute of injury time in the second half against Ha Tinh. He then ran towards the coaching staff and hugged coach Kiatisuk to share his joy. After the match, the Thai coach assessed that Quang Hai played very effectively, demonstrating his role as captain.

"He moves widely, both attacking and defending like my extended arm on the field," said coach Kiatisuk.

He then added that Quang Hai, Ho Tan Tai, and Bui Hoang Viet Anh – who were chosen as captains – play an important role for CAHN. "They are all-round players, both technically and mentally," he said. "Captains are like assistants and we often discuss tactics."

Quang Hai has scored five goals in the V-League this season, becoming the domestic striker with the most goals at present. Viet Anh and Ho Tan Tai are defenders who have also contributed four and three goals for CAHN since the beginning of the season.

The draw with Ha Tinh ended CAHN's four-game winning streak, but they remained unbeaten under Kiatisuk. The 1973-born coach assessed that Ha Tinh played solid defense but CAHN was not complacent. However, after conceding a goal from a penalty, his players became impatient.

CAHN 1-1 Ha Tinh

Commenting on his opponent, Ha Tinh coach Nguyen Thanh Cong said that CAHN is performing well under Kiatisuk. "He helps the players to maximize their potential," he said. "The most obvious point is the high performance of the players. Perhaps Kiatisuk is suitable for CAHN."

Another point helps CAHN have 22 points and rank third in the 2023-2024 Night Wolf V-League national championship, but the gap is widened to six points by Nam Dinh, the leader. In round 13, CAHN will face The Cong - a team with disappointing form when not winning in the last seven matches. After that, the V-League will take a break to make room for the Vietnamese team to focus on the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.
