Isak's actions have made him unpopular with Newcastle fans. |
Howe told The Guardian : “He (Isak) has to behave himself to be able to train with us again. This is Newcastle United, players have to take responsibility and be part of the team. You have to behave properly.”
Coach Howe's statement came as the 24-year-old striker expressed his intention to return to training with Newcastle, after refusing to participate in the previous tour in Asia. The "Magpies" leadership initially announced that the player was absent due to injury.
However, shortly afterwards, the British media reported that Isak had asked to leave Newcastle and not participate in the tour. Some Newcastle players said that Isak's actions were too disrespectful to the team. Coach Eddie Howe also agreed with this view: "No player can behave wrongly and then return to normal training with the team."
According to Mirror , the relationship between Isak and the rest of the team deteriorated after the striker expressed his intention to leave. Isak's actions caused division within the team. Currently, the deal for Isak to Liverpool is still deadlocked.
Liverpool made an offer worth up to 145 million euros but Newcastle still flatly refused. This tough move did not satisfy Liverpool, forcing Isak to "give in" and ask to return to training even though he had previously expressed his desire to leave.
