According to the Guardian, the World Football Federation (FIFA) is investigating coach Mwape for alleged inappropriate behavior with a female player of the Zambian national team.
Specifically, Mr. Bruce Mwape was accused of touching a player's chest two days before the match with Costa Rica.
FIFA affirmed that this is unacceptable behavior in a world-class tournament, especially a women's tournament.
"FIFA takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and has clear procedures in place. We have received a complaint regarding the Zambia women's team.
FIFA is currently investigating. We cannot provide further details at this time.
“If the accused is found guilty of a crime, we will use the strongest sanctions, including a lifetime ban from football,” a FIFA spokesperson said.
Previously, Mr. Bruce Mwape was also involved in a similar incident during his time in charge of the Zambian national women's team.
This coach was even accused of forcing players to "spend the night" with him if they wanted to be selected for the national team and win an official position in the squad.
But in the end, Mr. Bruce Mwape was not convicted and continued with his job leading the Zambian women's team.
