On the evening of November 3, Phu Dong Ninh Binh welcomed Long An in the second round of the First Division. This was the debut match of Hoang Duc and his teammates at home this season.

In the 83rd minute, from a face-off with a Long An striker, Van Lam made an excellent save to keep Ninh Binh's net intact. Three minutes later, Nhu Y headed the ball hard, making it impossible for Van Lam to block, but the ball hit the post.
After a series of missed opportunities, Long An conceded a second goal in extra time. Striker Duc Cuong fired a shot from the edge of the penalty area, sealing a 2-0 victory for Phu Dong Ninh Binh.
The second consecutive victory helped Nguyen Viet Thang and his team lead the rankings, scoring 3 goals and gaining 6 points. Hoang Duc had his first "goalless" match since his debut in the First Division.
