The above information was shared by Dr. Vu Phi Yen, a psychologist, at the workshop "Optimizing life with artificial intelligence (AI), comprehensive development programs, digital citizens and global citizens", organized by Vietnam Australia International School (VAS) on March 18.

According to Ms. Phi Yen, AI has "penetrated" every corner of life, into different fields. Parents need to clearly understand the influence of AI and how to make life easier with practical AI applications such as: Managing finances, home, increasing personal and work efficiency, supporting learning, creating creative entertainment activities and improving mental health, increasing family connections... For children, according to this expert, depending on their age, schools and parents need to teach their children "online courage" before letting them come into contact with AI.

"The important things to build fortitude in children are: Feeling okay with themselves; feeling okay with the world; loving to learn and being eager for changes in the world; nurturing essential thinking such as scientific thinking , critical thinking, creativity..." - Ms. Yen said.

Depending on the age of the students, schools and parents need to teach children "online courage" before being exposed to AI.

At the workshop, many opinions said that given the requirement that schools are training places to comprehensively develop students' abilities and qualities, creating a future generation of digital citizens and global citizens, the application of AI in teaching and learning is an issue that must be done immediately so that students can adapt and be proactive.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan, Principal of VAS System, said that the digital transformation program, bringing AI into teaching for students is the focus of VAS in the next 5 years and throughout the following years. Therefore, from the next school year, VAS will integrate 1 AI lesson into the program "Learning about the digital world and digital transformation" to teach students, depending on their age from grade 1 to grade 12.

"This is not simply about introducing an AI education program, but a digital transformation process across the entire VAS system, including many areas, from investment in infrastructure, equipment, security systems... to the most important factor being the team and AI education program" - Ms. Xuan emphasized.
