Hanoi students won 6 medals at the International Junior Science Olympiad IJSO

NDO - The Hanoi student delegation, representing Vietnam, with 6 contestants participating in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) 2024, excellently won 6 medals, including 5 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal.


Regarding the results of the 2024 International Youth Science Olympiad of the team, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the students who won Silver Medals include: Le Tung Lam, Le Gia Hong Minh, Nguyen Ngoc Que Chi (Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted); Vuong Ha Chi, Vu Nhat Long (Newton Secondary - High School).

The member who won the Bronze Medal is Nguyen Thanh Nhan (Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted).

Vietnamese students won 6 medals at IJSO 2024

The Hanoi team representing Vietnam at the 2024 International Junior Science Olympiad consists of 6 members who are the most outstanding faces selected from more than 200 students from schools who participated in the selection exam for the International Junior Science Olympiad organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. To prepare for the exam, the team had 2 months of focused training and coaching with the teachers in charge of the team.

The International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) is an international science competition for students under 15 years old held annually, becoming a playground of knowledge, encouraging students to approach practical science early, nurturing scientific talents. This year, the competition was held in Romania with the participation of more than 300 students from 52 countries and territories.

Candidates take the natural science exam in 3 subjects: physics, chemistry, biology. For each subject, students must take 3 exams including: An objective test on general knowledge; a theoretical exam requiring skills in synthesis, analysis, autonomy, problem solving, calculation, science, and creativity; a practical exam with skills in using modern tools and machines.

For many years, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has been assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Hanoi People's Committee to select and form a team of students to participate in the IJSO exam. The students of the team have achieved excellent results every year, contributing to affirming the quality and prestige of Vietnam's leading education.

Through participation from 2007 to 2023, the IJSO Hanoi team, representing Vietnam, has won a total of 77 medals, including 16 Gold Medals.
