The 7th City Red Cross First Aid Skills Competition 2024

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of November 3, at Vietnam Maritime University, the City Red Cross Society organized the 7th City Red Cross First Aid Skills Competition in 2024 to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (November 23, 1946 - November 23, 2024), the 66th anniversary of the founding of the Hai Phong City Red Cross Society (December 1, 1958 - December 1, 2024).

Attending the program were comrades: Bui Manh Phuc, Chairman of Hai Phong Red Cross Society; Tran Quoc Trinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Health ; along with representatives of leaders of relevant agencies and units and a large number of cadres, members, volunteers and youth of the city's Red Cross.

The Organizing Committee awarded souvenir flags to representatives of 16 competing teams.

The contest was attended by 16 districts, counties and universities in the city (Vietnam Maritime University, Hai Phong University and Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy). The teams went through 2 rounds of knowledge acquisition and demonstration of first aid skills. The Organizing Committee awarded the Excellent prize to the team from Hong Bang district; the First prize to the team from Hai An district; along with 3 Second prizes, 5 Third prizes and 6 Encouragement prizes to the participating teams.

The contest aims to raise awareness of Red Cross officials, members, youth, and volunteers about the history of the international Red Cross - Red Crescent movement; movements and campaigns of the Vietnam Red Cross Society and Hai Phong Red Cross Society.

This is a useful playground and an opportunity for teams to exchange, learn from experiences, develop their abilities, and demonstrate their pioneering role in the community. The activity aims to consolidate knowledge and practice community-based first aid skills for youth, teenagers, and Red Cross volunteers. Enhance command and emergency response capacity to minimize human losses and increase secondary injuries caused by traffic accidents and work accidents in the community.
