This afternoon, September 25, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Quang Tri coordinated with World Vision in the Central region to organize a contest to learn about preventing child abuse.

The contest attracted 90 children from 9 teams from districts, towns and cities in the province, except for Con Co island district. The teams went through 2 parts: drawing and ringing the golden bell, demonstrating their creativity and understanding of knowledge related to child abuse through topics of child abuse in the family, school, community and online environment.
As a result, the organizing committee awarded 4 consolation prizes, 3 third prizes, 1 second prize, and 2 first prizes to the students participating in the golden bell contest; and 4 consolation prizes, 3 second prizes, and 2 first prizes to the teams participating in the painting contest.
Quang Tri has 182,256 children under 16 years old (accounting for 29% of the population), of which over 20,000 children are in special circumstances and at risk of falling into special circumstances. In recent years, the work of protecting, caring for and educating children has received the attention and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the active participation of sectors, social organizations, non-governmental organizations, and the community, along with the care for children in each family.
However, the risk of children being injured, drowning, especially violence and child abuse is becoming more complicated and increasing, especially school violence and child sexual abuse.

The contest to learn about child abuse prevention aims to enhance knowledge and skills for children to prevent the risks of abuse, especially sexual abuse; to propagate and raise awareness of the community about child protection and safety in the online environment. At the same time, it creates a useful and healthy playground and increases opportunities for exchange and sharing of knowledge and information on child abuse prevention for young people in the whole province.
