More than 100 types of artistic kites are about to gather on Duy Xuyen beach

According to information at the press conference, up to now, there are at least 12 countries and territories confirmed to participate in the International Kite Festival - Quang Nam 2024 including: Vietnam, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia; in addition, there are representatives of the Asian Kite Association. The countries bring to the festival more than 100 different types of kites.

The festival takes place from July 25 to 28 at the beach near Hoiana Resort (Tay Son Tay village, Duy Hai commune, Duy Xuyen district). The highlight of the festival is the program of flying LED kites sparkling under the starry night on the evenings of July 26, 27 and 28. In particular, the evening of July 27 will be a grand concert night welcoming the appearance of famous young singers.

The festival will provide an open space for visitors and the community to enjoy impressive kite performances, appearing for the first time in Quang Nam. The organizers will arrange a performance area for the community (open beach without entrance invitation).

In addition, there will be a festival enjoyment area with limited attendees, including exhibition booths; kite making experience area; food and beverage booths; performing arts...

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Van Ba Son - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that this international kite festival is expected by the Quang Nam tourism industry to develop into an international cultural - artistic - tourism event and will be held annually in Quang Nam.

The event will be a place to exchange, share, preserve and promote the art of kite flying and kite making by domestic and international artisans. Hopefully the festival will be a unique product, with high-class performing arts, attracting the attention and enjoyment of domestic and foreign tourists.

Mr. Steve Wolstenholme - Chairman and General Director of Hoiana said: "As the organizer, Hoiana promises to create a space for performing and displaying colorful art kites along with interesting and classy entertainment activities.

We also hope that the International Kite Festival will soon become a distinct local brand, making Quang Nam a magnet for tourists in Central Vietnam."

In addition to the artistic kite performances, the festival also offers many other exciting activities. Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in kite making classes under the enthusiastic guidance of artisans, explore diverse and rich cuisine, enjoy magic shows, special fire dance performances... and many other impressive entertainment activities. All promise to create a vibrant and joyful festival space.
